Since 1986, Solar Works has been Sonoma Countys
one-stop solar electric shop, helping homeowners, businesses and communities
become more self-reliant by meeting their energy needs efficiently,
effectively and in ways that are good for the planet. We are a local
employer, active in our community, and dedicated to social and economic
justice and a healthy environment.
Currently,
we have the following open positions: Solar Sales Associate and Solar Installer 2 (Journeyman).
Solar Electric Sales Associate
Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Benefits: Holidays, sick leave and health benefits (after 90-day introductory
period)
Hours: Full time
Essential
Installation Duties
• Design and produce bids for solar system proposals and CAD documents for permits and PG&E applications
• Oversee and coordinate ordering, receipt and accurate pricing of materials for installations
• Collaborate on scheduling, help manage and resolve warranty and recall issues
• Keep informed on latest products, design information and NEC and UBC building codes
Qualifications
• High integrity and commitment to quality work and customer satisfaction
• At least one year of full-time experience in solar sales and customer service
• Excellent communication and consultative sales skills
• Collaborative, cooperative personality
• Knowledge of PV technology
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Flexible schedule, willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
• Clean driving record and reliable vehicle
• CAD expertise and PV-related training desirable
• Knowledge of Sonoma County communities and geography a plus
Physical
requirements
• Able to reach, bend, lift up to 20 pounds
• Able to use a computer for several hours at a time.
• Able to use a ladder and climb on rooftops.

Solar
Electric Installer 2
Salary Range: $18 – $28/hour
Benefits: Holidays, sick leave and health benefits (after 90-day introductory
period)
Hours: Full time, depending on job load
Accountability: CEO supervises this position
Essential
Installation Duties
• Schedule and lead installation jobs
• Supervise work crews
• Manage materials
• Schedule inspections
• Perform troubleshooting
• Provide pleasant and informative customer interactions
Physical
requirements
• Able to reach, bend, crawl, lift at least 50 pounds over head
• Able to climb on ladders and work on roofs; not afraid of heights
or steep pitches
• Energetic, with stamina in the field
Necessary
skills, training, experience
• At least two years as journeyman-level electrician in commercial
and residential PV installations
• Proficient in roof and ground mount racking systems, panel mounting
and wiring, running PVC and metallic conduit, wire pulling, inverter mounting
and wiring, integration into residential and commercial main electric
service
• Expertise in plumbing, including PEX tubing, copper soldering,
PVC piping, galvanized pipe assembly
• Skilled in trouble shooting PV issues, including inverters
• Knowledgeable and experienced in proper and safe use of tools
• Able to solve on-the-job problems safely, effectively, creatively
• Able to anticipate installation needs and plan ahead
